This apple tree was made using found materials. It is a unique one-off. The backing is a tray from a vintage wood-and-metal plan cabinet, found in my garden. The rusted metal has been cleaned up and waxed. But retains a hole and the patina as a nod to its long history. The tree trunk and branches have been made of natural twines attached to a series of copper nails attached to the frame. Green twine has been used to create the impression of the foliage. The ‘apples’ have been made using buttons.
